The Fresno Philharmonic is having their next performance Sunday, February 16th, 3:00pm at the William Saroyan Theater downtown Fresno. Tickets are on sale now!
From the Philharmonic event page:
Acclaimed pianist Barry Douglas, a favorite of the Philip Lorenz International keyboard Concerts, makes his Fresno Philharmonic debut performing Shostakovich’s effervescent Piano Concerto No. 2, one of the composer’s most light hearted works. Sergei Rachmaninoff’s epic Symphony No. 2 is full of gorgeous melodies, some of which have been turned into popular songs. However, it was also an act of artistic courage coming after the disastrous reception his first symphony received. Gabriela Lena Frank’s exciting and percussive Escaramuza (“skirmish”) is inspired by the kachampa dances of Andean Perú.Fresno Philharmonic event page
